Mary Lyn is a personal friend of mine. I fell in love with her program and took my first class back in the late 80’s!! Eventually I took her Certified Life Coaching Course and worked for her for the next 10 years as a Life Coach. I believe passionately in “Team” work and I learned it from her!!
Each week we will look at a myth. This week’s “tid bit” of motivation is from Chapter 1 of THE 8 MYTHS OF MAKING A LIVING is from MYTH #1.
MYTH #1 ~ I DON’T DESERVE SUCCESS UNLESS I’VE WORKED HARD TO EARN IT.
TRUTH ~ SUCCESS FLOWS TO THOSE WHO ARE PASSION~DRIVEN.
The belief that hard work is a requirement for value and identity is a reflection of our puritan forefathers and mothers who came over on the Mayflower, and has been handed down through generations since that time. Their work ethic served these pioneers well in a brand new country where they were passionately fighting for their religious freedom.
What is often overlooked is that it was the passion that drove them, not the work.
For those of us living today work has simply become work – meaning to get a paycheck- often an empty, difficult and meaningless daily exercise.
PASSION IS THE DRIVING FORCE ~ Anyone who has been truly happy and successful has done so from the same source: PASSION!
Think of anyone in your life that you really respect for his/her accomplishments. Are they doing it just for the money? Are they dragging through the week, desperate to get to Friday? People who achieve their dreams are filled with this incredible life force and energy called passion. They may even seem divinely inspired.
PASSION COMES FROM TAKING RISKS ~ Basic law: those who consistently risk reap the rewards. Passion is a force that opens doors.
Remember: The truth is: Success flows to those who are passion-driven.
